The Henry County (GA) Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 12180 was established in January of 2019. Be not dissuaded, for the VFW traces its roots back to 1899 when veterans of the Spanish-American War (1898) and the Philippine Insurrection (1899-1902) founded local organizations to secure rights and benefits for military service members. Many arrived home in need of care. Back then, there were no organizations to provide medical care nor were there veterans' pension for those who served, their care was left up to themselves.

The Henry County VFW is here to ensure veterans in our community and communities worldwide  are aware and have access to the many programs and services that support veterans, service members and their families.

Today, the Henry County VFW Post has the backing of a standing national membership of more than 1.6 million members of the VFW and its Auxiliary. Getting veterans support, even if it means an act of Congress, is what we are here for.
