Comrade Doss of VFW Post 12180 and his family along with additional 100 people were in attendance for the Wreaths Across America ceremony to place 1,000 wreaths on the graves at the Ft. Benning Main Post Cemetery on December 17, 2022. The site has over 9,000 heroes and their family members interned. Two of those heroes are: Lt Gen Hal Moore and CSM Basil Plumley. Both are known for their valor, heroism, and determination while serving with 1st Battalion, 7th Calvary during the Battle of La Drang in Vietnam. This event was highlighted in the book: "We Were Soldiers Once, and Young" as well as the movie "We Were Soldiers".
